In 2 weeks me and my best friend are jetting off to Spain for a 3 day mini break! She has decided to go to university in September so we wanted a little holiday together before she starts all the hard work! I have put together a wish list of items I want to buy or will be buying for my holiday.

Sorry but not sorry if this makes you want to go and book a holiday somewhere hot immediately!

A Perfect Night In!

After a busy week at work I am so glad it is finally Friday, and I am already counting down the hours until I am back home! There is nothing I love more on a Friday then a night in, I always feel so relaxed and refreshed when I wake up Saturday morning. I thought I would share with you my ideas for a perfect night in!

1. A nice relaxing bath - Nothing beats a soak in a hot bath to relax you, grab all your bath products, I love a lush bath bomb and put some music on or just relax with nothing but your thoughts. I always feel so much better after a bath!

2. Put on your comfiest clothes or Pajamas - There is no better feeling than being comfortable, put what ever you feel the most comfortable in on, nobody is going to see you so it doesn't matter what it is. Even doing just this can help you relax.

3. Watch a feel good film - Watch a film that makes you feel happy and good inside. I always choose to watch Disney films as they are my absolute favorite.

4. Do activities that help you relax - I absolutely love just sitting there with my coloring book, I find it so therapeutic and it's nice to be away from technology for an evening. I also knit sometimes which helps relax me. Do something you love that isn't stressful.

5. Food/Snacks - Have something you really fancy to eat, forget the calories just for one night and enjoy your favorite food or snacks. I believe food is one of the things that make people feel happiest, well it definitely is for me!

6. Pamper yourself - Whether it is just painting your nails or the whole shebang, pamper yourself and make yourself feel beautiful, if you feel good on the outside, the inside will feel a lot better too!

Hope this gives you some inspiration for a night in, if you have anything you do to help you relax, let me
know in the comments!

2016 Book Challenge!

I am a huge book lover! Reading is definitely my favorite hobby and I can easily spend a whole weekend stuck in a book rather than leaving the house. At the beginning of 2016 I set myself a challenge to see if I could read 100 books this year, I realized last month that I may not meet this goal, so I am just going to try and read as many I can by the end of the year.

So far I have read 13 books and thought I would share with you my top 3 so far!

1. Me before you -  Jojo Moyes
This is one of those books that is weird to say you love because it is a major tear jerker! I spent a whole evening reading this with a box of tissues. But it is such an amazing, beautiful story! The story is about Lou Clarke a normal small town girl who ends up working with Will Traynor who is a Quadriplegic. The film of this book is being released this year, so if you you are like me and like to read the book before the film, get reading this asap!

2. A girls best friend - Lindsey Kelk
I read this at the beginning of January when I was missing New York and it made me want to go straight back, I have read all of Lindsey Kelks ' I heart Series' and loved them (definitely recommend them if you love a good chick flick) and this was just as good. It's about a girl who spends christmas with her best friend in New York. It was an easy, cheery read and I would read it again.

3. The 100 year old man who climbed out of his window and disappeared - Jonas Jonasson
This isn't the kind of book I normally read but I really enjoyed it. As you can probably gather from the title it is about a 100 year old man who escapes out of a window, the story tells of his life so far and the weird and wonderful things that have happened to him. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

Other books I have read so far this year:
I'll take New York - Miranda Dickinson
Rumour has it - Jill Mansell
Where there hearts collide - Zoe York
The Wedding Gift - Lucy Kevin
Seaside Dreams - Melissa Foster
Seaside Hearts - Melissa Foster
Marrying Mister Perfect - Lizzie Shane
The Shop on Main - Kay Correll
Montana Cowgirl - Debra Salonen

As you can probably tell by the titles almost all the books I have read this year have been chick flicks, but I am now going to try reading some different genres!

If you have any recommendations of good books you have read lately please let me know, so I can continue my list!

April beauty favourites!

I have been using a few new beauty products in April, some of them hair products and some make-up. I  have put a list together for you of the products I will be definitely using again!

1. Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo - I was recommended this by my hairdresser as the last few times she has done my hair the ends have been really dry and my hair kept knotting really easy. I have used this for a few weeks now and the difference is amazing, my hair is no longer dry and it's so much easier to deal with. If you have thick hair like me I would definitely give it a try!

2. Bed head After Party - Again another recommendation from my hairdresser, she herself uses this every time she does my hair, I have been putting it on after I have straightened my hair and it gives it a smooth sleek finish and doesn't frizz as soon as I step outside like usual.

3. Simple Micellar Water - I jumped on the Micellar Water band wagon about 6 months ago now when I kept reading everywhere about how bad make-up wipes are for your skin. Up until now I have used the Garnier Micellar Water which I really liked but when I ran out at the beginning of the month I saw this one on offer and as I am prone to acne thought I would give it a go. So far so good, it removes make-up just as good as the Garnier one and my skin has seemed a lot clearer.

4. Collection Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner - This little gem was discovered by accident, I had ran out of eye liner and needed one to tide me over until I could research which ones were best, I picked up this because it was just £2.99 and thought it would last me until I found a better one. Turns out this eye liner is pretty damn awesome, it lasts all day, gives great coverage and it is perfect for flicks! I will definitely be buying it again!

5. Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation - I seem to change my foundation every couple of months, because I either don't like it or it doesn't have great coverage. I picked up this one from boots and I have been using it for 2 weeks now. So far so good, it gives really good coverage and lasts all day. Fingers crossed this one is a keeper.

6. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette  - I saved my best until last. I have wanted a Naked Palette now for a few months and when I was bored on a Friday night finally bought one on impulse. It has definitely turned out to be one of my best impulse buys! I chose the Naked 3 Palette because I love to wear pink and neutral tones. The colors are gorgeous, and with an eye shadow primer, they last all day. I am now waiting to buy the smokey eye palette and give that a try!

Are there any beauty products you have been using this month that you just love? If so let me know, I would love to give them a try!

10 things I have learnt in 25 years!

I turned 25 in December and even though sometimes I still feel 18, I had a think about all the things I have learnt growing up that are actually helping me in life and thought I would put a list together for you!

1. Always trust your instincts - There has been so many times over my life I have felt like something wasn't right but I have ignored the feeling when I should have just listened. As I have got older I have listened to my instincts more often and they have normally turned out to be right.

2. Don't stay with someone you don't truly love - I was in a relationship for 4 years, and for the last year I realized I wasn't happy, I put other peoples feeling before my own as I didn't want to hurt anyone but in turn made myself really unhappy. The relationship ended and I felt so much happier and became a better me! The only regret is that I didn't end it sooner.

3. Wear what you want - I have been one to jump on the band wagon whenever a new fashion trend came along just to fit in. But as I have got older I choose what I want to wear and what makes me comfortable, I don't care what other people think. Sometimes if it happens to be something on trend then that's great, but its not my main priority.

4. Be spontaneous - There has been so many occasions over the years when I have been sitting at home on a Friday night and have been asked to go for a last minute night out but have refused. This is because I hadn't planned it. I always have a plan for the day week, month etc. and because of this have missed so many opportunities for great nights out and last minute holidays. The last year I have been saying yes a lot more, and just going with the flow and have had so many great nights/days because of this.

5. Keep in touch with friends - As you get older your friend list seems to get smaller, this sometimes can not be helped, people grow and change and sometimes the friendship fizzles out. But I have learnt that trying to keep in touch with people even if its just texting them once a week, really helps to remain close to that person and keep them in your life.

6. Be positive - This one sounds like such a cliche but it really does work. Think about your goals in a positive light, and always looks at the positive side of things. Sometimes just thinking positive things can make positive things happen.

7. Don't dwell on the past - I feel a little hypocritical putting this one down because it's only been very recently I have started not to do this. Before I would think about things that had happened in the past and regrets I had and would get emotional. Lately I have been trying not to do this, I have been trying to look at things I am excited for in the future instead, this one is still a learning curve for me but I think if you can master this, your mind will feel much happier.

8.Everybody is different and that's OK - There has been many times over the years I have looked at celebrities and the last few years other women on Instagram and thought I wish my figure was like that, I wish I was as pretty as her etc. Lately I have felt more confident in who I am, everyone looks different, but everyone is beautiful in there own way, don't waste your life being unhappy with who you are, accept who you are and embrace it.

9. No news is good news - In the last 2 years I have tried not to watch or read the news as much as possible. Yes you need to know whats going on sometimes, especially if it involves major stuff happening where you live. But reading/listening about all the bad things that happen daily can have such a negative impact on your mind. Since avoiding the news I have felt much more happier. I know bad things happen and you can't bury your head in the sand but there is no reason to be thinking about these bad things all the time.

10.Do what makes you happy - The final thing I have learnt is to try to do what makes you happy, your happiness should come first and you should think about this when making decisions. Too many people I know stay in jobs they don't like, or stay with people they don't like because they don't want to make other people unhappy. Try to put yourself first, and do what makes you happy, life is much better when you are!

Friday Thoughts!

Do you ever feel like life is whizzing by right before your eyes, another week goes by, then a month, then a season then a year. But you look back on that time and think what did I really do in that year!? I am another year older and yet i'm still doing exactly the same thing day in day out as I was a year ago!

These have been my exact thoughts a lot this year, in December I turned 25 and I feel like i'm stuck in a bit of a rut, me and J are still trying to save to buy a house, I am still working in the same job I have been in for 7 years and i'm not progressing anywhere which makes me feel a bit down and feel like i'm not moving forward in my life whilst time is just passing me by.

After feeling down and thinking about this a lot, I managed to come up with a list of things I have done in the last year, we got engaged, I visited some new places, more money was added to the savings account etc. My point is even if you don't think you have achieved anything there is most likely lots of little things you have done and those things shouldn't be taken for granted!

Today I have complied a list of things to do to make you feel better if you are feeling a bit down or stuck in a rut!

1. Write a list of all the things you did in the last year that made you happy, be it a mini break away, a day out or even just spending quality times with loved one (I bet you did more than you thought)!

2. Look through your Facebook/Instagram/Twitter accounts for the last year, look at all the things you did that year that you had forgotten about and all the photos you took that year.

3.If you feel like you want to move forward with an aspect in your life, be it moving house, moving jobs or just seeing more places, write down a heading of what you want to do and underneath list small steps that you can take to be closer to achieving this. Sometimes just writing it down makes you feel more positive and makes you feel that it is achievable!

4. Do something every single day that makes you feel happy. Have an hour just cuddling a loved one, buy that top from your wishlist, or eat your favorite food! When you go to bed that night, you can at least be content thinking of that one happy thing you did.

5. Finally I know its cliche but just live life to the full, it does pass by quickly so you need to make the most of it, enjoy every day as much as you can and try not to worry about the trivial things.

Have a good Friday!
